With the adverse weather being forecast for this weekend
we have decided to relocate our annual Fèis Ghasaigh event and with the help of our neighbours and friends at
Cnoc Soilleir , Ceòlas and Southend Community Hall – Daliburgh, the show will go on
this Saturday the 3rd August.We’ve been working hard with local providers and agencies in our community
to re-schedule the event and here is the list of activities which will take place in Cnoc Soilleir and Southend Community Hall – Daliburgh this Saturday
Unfortunately we are not able to carry out the Fisherman’s Mass and Blessing of the Boats on Sunday 4th August however, we will look to re-schedule this for another date soon. Sunday Mass will therefore be in St Peter’s, Daliburgh as normal at 11.30am.
We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday to enjoy live music , song and dancing displays showcasing our talented local artists and performers. In partnership with Ceòlas and their 2024 Symposium, you can hear about the history of some of our abandoned villages. You can also hear an interesting talk from Dòmhnall Iain MacDonald about the tides and their importance for our island communities and traditional practices.
Croft & Cuan and
MacLeans Bakery BBQ will ensure you are well fed for the day / evening and
teas and
coffees in Cnoc Soilleir and the licensed bar in the Community Hall from 5.30pm will ensure plenty refreshments are available
Chrissie’s Magical Faces, Uist inflatables ltd,
emergency services vehicles
, Splaoid aig Deas and other activities will entertain our young people (and older ones of course).

Local stars will feature in the ‘Ben Kenneth’ Pipe Band and will be dancing for us throughout the day. Benbecula’s

Kathleen MacInnes & Mike Vass. Our House Band will keep your toes tapping at various points of the day
